I use he/him pronouns and am a white settler scholar with Scottish and English ancestry.  I currently reside on the lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən people known today as the Esquimalt, Songhees, and WSÁNEĆ.  I grew up on the lands of who are known today as the Cowichan Tribes, the primary successor to the Cowichan Nation.  I am a Master of Public Administration Student at the University of Victoria and hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies and Political Studies from Vancouver Island University.  My research interests include climate change adaptation and mitigation, combating social and economic inequalities, and decolonization.  During my undergraduate studies, I interned with Climate Action Network Australia where I researched the dangers of bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, nature-based-solutions to climate change, and the Minerals Council of Australia’s nuclear policy.  My interests outside of academics include fitness, exploring nature, and reading a good book.
