Emily joined the HEC Lab in September 2013.  After spending a summer working at the Senate of Canada developing briefing notes for the Aboriginal Peoples Committee, Emily became interested in Aboriginal issues and the impacts of public perception upon the policy process. She participated in the field course titled Indigenous Perspectives on Resource and Environmental Management and completed her undergraduate course based honours thesis with the College of Sustainability at Dalhousie University, which was a critical discourse analysis of the Idle No More movement. She is a recent graduate from the combined honours Environment, Sustainability and Society with International Development Studies and a minor in Political Science.
