Ella Bennett

Biography:

Ella joined the HEC Lab as a Research Associate in the summer of 2013, upon completing her Master of Environmental Studies ella2degree with Dr. Castleden and the Pictou Landing Native Women’s Association. With a background in International Development Studies, her work is influenced by a desire to explore people’s connections to place in the context of change (socio / historical / political / environmental). With proficiency in a multitude of knowledge creation/mobilization activities – from her engaging writing style for both academic and lay audiences, through creative endeavours such as film/digital storytelling and design/layout, to committed dialogue and exchange with university and community-based research partners – Ella’s work supported various elements of the HEC Lab’s research projects.

Current Position:

Ella is now a Youth Mentor with Alaska Crossings
