Elissa Bozhkov

Honours Bachelor of Science Candidate

Biography: Elissa is in her final year of a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) Degree (with Honours) at Queen’s University. For her Honours Thesis project, she will be working under the supervision of Dr. Heather Castleden through A SHARED Future, seeking to explore what ‘reconciliation and healing’ mean in the context of the International Institute for Sustainable Development-Experimental Lakes Area. 

She is also involved in the Nyantende Foundation: a non-profit organization on campus that subsidizes tuition costs for youth from the Democratic Republic of Congo. She enjoys working with children and looks forward to pursuing more policy work after graduation.

Research Interests: Elissa’s research interests include: environmental justice, food security, sustainability, education and improving community engagement with Indigenous groups.
