Ayanna Clappis



Biography: Ayanna joined the HEC Lab in the summer of 2017 to help with a ‘Photovoice’ research project. She will work with Jon Aarssen in Ana’cla to ask Huu-ay-aht citizens to take pictures and share stories about Treaty. Ayanna is currently studying Political Science at the University of Victoria and working on a certificate in the Human Dimensions of Climate Change at the undergraduate level. Prior to this, she studied at Vancouver Island University where she began her studies in Business. Ayanna is actively involved on campus as a Councillor at Large for Uvic’s Native Students Union and a member of the Uvic Green Party and Students of Colour Collective. One day she hopes to become an environmental lawyer.
